FCHS Homecoming Queen to be crowned Friday night

FLOYDADA — Five Floydada Collegiate High School seniors will be vying for Homecoming Queen 2021 during halftime of the Floydada Whirlwinds vs. Smyer Bobcats game at Charles Tyer Stadium Friday night. The Queens’ Court consists of Savannah Benevides, Clarissa Delafuente, Alyssa Hinson, Erin Trevino and Kaitlyn Vega. The girls will arrive in the stadium in green John Deere Gators provided by Western Equipment in Floydada.

SAVANNAH BENEVIDES
Savannah is the daughter of Daniel Villa and Angelica Amador. She currently is the treasurer for the FCHS Student Council and participates in Academic UIL. She has been a cheerleader and competed in powerlifting and track/field. She is part of a youth group and has done volunteer work at a pet store.

CLARISSA  DELAFUENTE
Clarissa is the daughter of Gabe and Lupe Delafuente. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America (BPA). She participates in Academic UIL, plus she has been a class officer and student council representative. Clarissa was a national qualifier in BPA. She has played basketball, softball, track and field and has been a cheerleader. She is a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

ALYSSA HINSON
Alyssa is the daughter of Don Gipson and Kalissia Hinson. She is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in Academic UIL. She has been a cheerleader, plays softball and competes in track and field. She is a junior leader in Girl Scouts and been involved with the National Youth Leadership Forum in medicine.

ERIN TREVINO
Erin is the daughter of Laticia and Dr. Gilbert Trevino. She is a member of the National Honor Society, is presently ranked number one in the 2022 senior class, is a part of the Gifted and Talented program, Business Professionals of America (BPA), and participates in Academic UIL. Erin plays softball, basketball and track and field. She is a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Youth Group. She has been named to two All State Softball teams as a pitcher.

KAITLYN VEGA
Kaitlyn is the daughter of Armando Chavarria, Jr. and Amy Vega. She is the president of FFA, president of the Student Council, secretary of National Honor Society and participates is Academic UIL. She has been a student trainer and volunteered at the animal shelter. She has a Lone Star Degree in FFA. She is a member at the Templo Salem.
