Whirlwinds’ opponents still alive in Region Semis

FLOYDADA — Two state-rated opponents of the Floydada Whirlwinds keep moving on to the Region Quarterfinals in their respective UIL playoff brackets: the No. 6 New Deal Lions (11-1) in 2A-I and the No. 6 Roosevelt Eagles (12-0) in 3A-II. Both are District Champions of their respective leagues.

Two neighboring schools, the No. 1 Motley County Matadors (12-0) in 1A-II and No. 12 Valley Patriots (9-3) in 1A-I are advancing to the Regional Finals in their respective six-man brackets.
Another nearby school, the No. 9 Abernathy Antelopes (11-1) are on another good playoff run going into the 3A-II Region Quarters this Thanksgiving weekend against the defending State Champion Canadian Wildcats (9-3).
