A.B. Duncan planning month of festive dress-up days

FLOYDADA — A.B. Duncan Elementary School is planning a slate of 13 dress-up days for the month of December to set the tone for the holidays and usher in the Christmas spirit.

The spirit days begin on Dec. 1 and run every school day until Dec. 17, which is the last day of school for the semester. Each day in the “December to Remember” has a dress-up theme, which are listed below.

  • Dec. 1 – College Holiday Spirit: Wear your college shirt
  • Dec. 2 – It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas: Wear a favorite holiday shirt
  • Dec. 3 – Baby It’s Cold Outside: Wear favorite winter accessories (hat, scarf, gloves, etc.)
  • Dec. 6 – Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree: Wear holiday shirts and socks
  • Dec. 7 – White Christmas: Wear white
  • Dec. 8 – Mad About Plaid: Wear a favorite plaid or flannel shirt
  • Dec. 9 – Ugly Sweater Day: Wear a favorite ugly festive sweater
  • Dec. 10 – Candy Cane Christmas: Dress like a candy cane — wear red and white
  • Dec. 13 – Santa Claus is Coming to Town: Wear red and white with a Santa hat
  • Dec. 14 – Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer: Dress like Rudolph or wear antlers
  • Dec. 15 – Shine Bright, Little Lights: Wear lighted wardrobe (tinsel, glitter, garland, necklaces, etc.)
  • Dec. 16 – Grinch Day: Wear jeans and a green shirt
  • Dec. 17 – Polar Express: Wear festive pajamas
    • Polar Express day will also feature hot chocolate and a screening of the movie
