FLOYDADA — The Floydada City Council will meet Tuesday evening at 6:30 to discuss an upcoming water tank project, a street project, an election, variance requests and a personnel matter.

A couple of items on the agenda address public improvements the city is working towards. One is the multi-million-dollar water tank improvement project that the city recently established a Certificate of Obligation bond for. The other is a project to pave two blocks of California Street that will be mostly covered by a state grant.

Two variance requests are on the agenda — one at 304 E. Georgia St. and one at 126 Mae Ave.

The council will also discuss a routine tax election coming up on May 7 and will consider contracting that election to the county.

The council is also expected to recess into closed session to discuss personnel matters regarding a member of the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department.
