SLATON – The Floydada Lady Winds endured north winds in excess of 20-MPH and a chill factor in the mid 20’s in the opening day of their season on Thursday by taking two wins in the Slaton Sadler Monuement Touranment.

Floydada (2-0) won Game One by outscoring the Tahoka Lady Bulldogs 14-11 in Slaton that started before 12-noon. The Lady Winds then shutout Lubbock Trinity Christian 10-0 in a late afternoon game at Roosevelt.

The Lady Winds will play two games on Friday against the 5A Amarillo Tascosa Rebels at 11:40am, and the Brownfield Lady Cubs at 4:00pm. They will have one single game on Saturday afternoon at 1:20pm with the Slaton Tigerettes. All of their remaining games will be at the Slaton softball field.
