FLOYDADA – As the saying goes, July 4th in Floyd County is “going to be lit.”

A number of events are planned for the 4th in Floydada, and the opportunity for businesses and residents to get involved still exists as we’re now just under a month away.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floydada Police, Floydada Chamber and the Serrato Sisters are hosting multiple community events, starting with the Serrato’s breakfast that Monday morning. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. there will be the opportunity for community businesses to set up tables offering items for sale as well as events for family members of all ages.

A parade will take place along California Street beginning at 2:30 p.m., and then details are still being worked out, but the day will wrap with a fireworks display in Muncy near the Floyd County Friends Unity Center.

Organizers say they still have space available for vendors to set up free of charge at the community event at the Serrato’s venue along Main Street (the old Oden Chevrolet awning) and are accepting parade participants as well. If you or your business would be interested in joining in the fun, call or text (806) 983-4535.

Event sponsorships are also available for the breakfast. Information on that can be picked up at Whirlwind Nutrition.
