FLOYD COUNTY – The driver killed in a rollover accident Monday morning along the Silverton Highway has been identified by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

The department says 54-year-old Jose Alfredo Rodriquez of Lubbock was heading north along FM 207 near the Briscoe County line Monday morning around 6:40 when his 1993 Chevy pickup drifted off the road. Deputies say it appears Rodriquez overcorrected, crossing both lanes of the highway before his truck rolled over.
A record of 911 calls shows Floydada EMS was called to the scene a few minutes later. Justice of the Peace Ed Marks pronounced Rodriquez deceased a short time later.
