FLOYDADA – Being 3-0 is a welcomed feeling for the Floydada Whirlwinds. During Tuesday evening’s school board meeting Dr. Gilbert Trevino told the board he was happy with how the team was playing, but was hopeful they could stay healthy.

The Whirlwinds will find out as they travel to New Home Friday night to take on a 2-1 Leopards team led by Wide Receiver Logan Addison, who has rushed for an average 54 yards a game in the early part of the season.

The Leopards dropped their season opener 27-7 to the Haskell Indians before topping Colorado City and Hale Center by nearly identical scores of 50-13 and 48-12.

Friday’s game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at New Home’s Leopard Field. Randell Sims will have the call on 106.1 FLiP FM and at FloydCountyRecord.com.
