FLOYD COUNTY – Students at both Floydada and Lockney High Schools will gather at their respective schools early Wednesday morning to pray. They will pray for their schools, their friends and their teachers as part of a now 30-plus year event known as See You At The Pole (SYATP).

‘SYATP’ started in 1990 when a group of teens gathered outside their high school’s flag pole to pray. That moment has grown into an international event held every September. In Floydada, students will gather at the flagpoles in the north end zone of Charles Tyer Stadium. In Lockney, they will gather at the flagpole outside the front door of the school.

The event is set to begin locally at 7:00 a.m., and generally lasts about 30 minutes.

Wednesday evening Wayland Baptist University will host a wrap-up rally known as “Saw You At The Pole” at 7:00 p.m. in Harral Auditorium on the school’s Plainview campus.
