FLOYDADA, TX – Last week, Floydada Economic Development Corporation (EDC) members voted to purchase a piece of property in the downtown area.

Though a purchase agreement has not been finalized, the group is moving forward on the potential acquisition.

Currently, no plans have been made on what to do with the property once acquired,  but the board has been helping other businesses step up their game with an investment of $17,000 so far this fiscal year (which began on October 1, 2022) in financial incentives to promote economic activity within the city.

Ryan Crowe, Floydada EDC Executive Director, also reports that a 2013 Ford Focus vehicle purchased for travel purposes has been sold to a private buyer for $7,150 during their recent monthly meeting.
