FLOYDADA, TX – Earlier this month, Floyd County Commissioners met in regular session and approved a plan to purchase six new computers for the Floyd County Library for $6,600 (From VP Business Strategies).

Not all of the items on the agenda required an outflow of funds from the county, with more than $261,000 received from the Office of the Governor since 2016; commissioners approved a grant for bullet-resistant shields (almost $85,000) to all five public schools in the county.

A donation of $1,400 was also approved for the family of Hunter Wells, funded by a fund-raiser held by the Sheriff’s Office at a parade last month.
