HALE CENTER, TX – The Lady Winds (12-4, 1-0) had their first district softball game in Hale Center against the Lady Owls on Tuesday.
Floydada would strike first, as they were able to get two runs in the first inning, leading the Lady Owls 2-0.
Headed into the 6th inning, the Lady Winds held a 4-3 lead over Hale Center.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Lady Winds had a big offensive burst, scoring 13 runs and extending their lead to 17-3.
The Lady Owls were able to get one run in the bottom half of the inning, but it was the Lady Winds who would emerge victorious and secure their first district win.
