FRIONA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds (3-7) played the Borger JV on Friday in the 2023 Friona Baseball Tournament.
Borger would score two in the top of the first inning, but Floydada was able to score four in the bottom half and take a 4-2 lead.
In the second inning, Borger would tie the game 4-4.
Both teams would score seven in the third inning to remain tied at 11.
In the top of the fourth, Borger would score four and secure the victory over the Whirlwinds, 15-11.
The Whirlwinds will play two games on Saturday in Friona, the first at 10:00 a.m. against the Hereford JV and the second following at 12:15 against Friona.
