FLOYDADA, TX – Following an appearance in the Class 2A Region I championship game in Levelland this season, Floydada Head Boys Basketball Coach Eddie Walker is taking his fast-paced play to East Texas.

Walker submitted his resignation earlier in the week to Floydada Collegiate ISD and accepted the same position with Big Sandy ISD, where he’ll lead a Wildcat team that went 8-14 last season in Region III.

The Whirlwinds have been impressive over the past five seasons (125-28) dating back to the 2018-2019 season when Adam Zepeda led the team to a 21-8 record, followed by a 27-6 record (2019-2020), and a 21-4 mark (2020-2021) before taking over the Lady Winds program in 2021. Last season Anthony Carson compiled a 20-6 record (2021-2022), paving the way for Walker’s 36-6 mark (2022-2023).
