FLOYDADA, TX – The City of Floydada is reminding sanitation customers and residents that construction debris is not permitted in city dumpsters and is encouraging everyone to dispose of waste properly to help keep sanitation services running smoothly.

According to the City, construction materials placed in dumpsters often make the containers too heavy for sanitation trucks to lift. When this happens, City employees must manually remove the debris before the dumpsters can be emptied, creating unnecessary delays and additional labor.

City officials also remind residents that placing unauthorized debris in or around dumpsters, or illegally dumping trash in other locations throughout the community, is prohibited. Individuals caught violating these regulations could face fines.

For residents needing to dispose of construction materials or other debris, the City of Floydada operates a landfill located on Highway 70, approximately two miles east of town.

In addition, the City provides sanitation customers with five complimentary landfill dump tickets each year. Each ticket is valued at $5, for a total annual value of $25 per customer. These tickets can be used to safely and legally dispose of trash and debris at the City landfill.

Residents who have not yet picked up their annual dump tickets are encouraged to contact or visit Floydada City Hall. City staff are also available to answer questions about landfill services, accepted materials, and proper disposal procedures.

City officials appreciate the community’s cooperation in helping keep Floydada clean while ensuring sanitation services remain efficient for all residents.
