LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney ISD has released its weekly information, highlighting upcoming academic activities, athletic events and important dates for students and families as the district prepares for the start of a new school year.
The August breakfast and lunch menu is available for families to review. Menus are subject to change, so families are encouraged to stay up to date with any adjustments.
Dual Credit classes for Lockney High School students enrolled in Dual Credit courses will begin August 24.
The start of football season is also quickly approaching, with Thursday and Friday night lights beginning next week. The Longhorn Varsity football season will officially get underway, while the Jr. High Shorthorns will begin their season September 10.
Lockney Varsity will take on Archer City in a scrimmage Thursday, August 20, in Seymour. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Longhorns as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Lockney High School Cheerleaders have also announced updated dates for their Mini Cheer Camp. The camp will be held September 15-18 from 5 to 5:45 p.m. in the Lockney High School Gym. The cost is $40 per cheerleader and includes a T-shirt and bow. Additional information is available through the Lockney High School Cheerleaders Facebook page.
Families looking to show their Longhorn spirit can also order Lockney football shirts. The Lockney Football Store will close Tuesday, August 18. The T-shirt order link is available through the Lockney Athletic Booster Club Facebook page.
With classes underway and athletic seasons just around the corner, Lockney ISD is gearing up for an exciting school year. The community is encouraged to support Lockney students, athletes, cheerleaders and coaches throughout the year.
