CANYON — The Floydada cross country team will have a unique experience when they start their 2021 season at the West Texas Twilight on the campus of West Texas A&M University on Thursday.
The West Texas Twilight will be a two mile course that circles the WTAMU Sports Complex and finishes in Buffalo Stadium under the lights. The remainder of the cross country meets this season will all be daytime races.
Floydada will be competing in the small school division. The varsity girls run is slated for an 8:10 p.m. start time, and the varsity boys will begin at 8:30 p.m.
FCHS cross country coach Travis Pittman indicated that not all of his runners will be competing at the West Texas Twilight due to some of them being involved in the Floydada vs Tulia junior varsity football game on Thursday as players and cheerleaders.
