FLOYDADA — The Floyd County Historical Museum will hold a reception on Thursday to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
From 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, the museum will be open to the public, with tours, refreshments, and other festivities to celebrate the milestone.
The museum was birthed on Sept. 23, 1971 with a founding board including Nancy Marble, who will be honored during the event. Marble’s “tireless efforts have made the museum a focal point for preservation of the history of Floyd County,” said a recent FCHM newsletter.
