Jose Perales, also known by friends and family as Little Joe, was called home by our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the age of 73 years old at Lubbock Heart Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada with Father Renato Cruz officiating. Interment will follow at the Floydada Cemetery. Visitation was 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.
Jose was born in Alice, Texas to Modesta Rodriguez and Santana Perales on May 12, 1948.
Jose Perales was blessed to share 25 years of his life with Maria Escalon. Together they were blessed with 8 children, 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Jose and Maria later migrated to New Mexico where they resided for over 20 years. Jose was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. Most of all he was a great friend to his co-workers and anyone he met or worked with. He enjoyed dancing, music, cooking, spending time with family, friends and his dog Blue.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Escalon in 2016. His parents, his brother, Rene Perales, sister, Norma Rhea, sister, Angelita Vargas.
Those left to cherish and carry on his legacy are his children, Jose Jr & Rose Peralez of Plainview, Texas, Graciela & Gene Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas, Arlinda & Randy Hernandez of Plainview, Texas, Melisa Peralez of Austin, Texas, Leticia & David Longoria of Plainview Texas, Paul & Paris Peralez of Lubbock, Texas, Matthew & Samantha Escalon of Wolforth, Texas, Patricia & Kevin Smith of Petersburg, Texas.
He is also survived by the mother of his first 5 children, Guadalupe Peralez of Plainview, Texas.
He is also survived by his best friends, Kelly Railsback, Phillip Gandara, Michael & Janet Kear, and the Russell Family.
