Dolores Cannon (Floydada)

Dolores (Smalley) Cannon, age 92 of Floydada, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2021, in Floydada, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Floydada. Burial will follow at the Floydada Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 8, 2021, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.Dolores was born in the Muncy, Texas community on July 3, 1929, to John and Mattie Smalley. She was married to J. W. Cannon on August 6, 1949, who preceded her in death in 2014. They were married for 64 years and adored each other’s company. They were blessed with two sons. Both Dolores and J. W. raised their family and resided in Floydada, where her greatest pleasure was serving her community and her church family.

Dolores is survived by her sons, Douglas Cannon and his wife Vickie of San Antonio, Steven Cannon and his wife Jana of Plainview; her six grandchildren, Jeff, Brian, Beth, Shawn, Chris, Jonathon; and her twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Dolores Cannon’s name to the First Baptist Church of Floydada, or the charity of your choice.
