Floydada, Lockney start girls hoops season with home games Saturday

FLOYD COUNTY — The Floydada Lady Winds and Lockney Lady Longhorns made their 2021-22 basketball season debuts with home games on Saturday.

Lockney launched nine 3s as a team, lead by Gabriella Cervantes with six 3s individually, as Lady Longhorns blitzed the Dimmitt Bobbies 65-38. The Floydada Lady Winds stayed close with the No. 18 state-rated Sundown Roughnecks the entire game before falling 43-39.
