Donna Rhea Keaton, 62, of Littlefield, formerly of Floydada and Lockney, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, in Lubbock. Visitation was held Wednesday evening, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1305 Phelps in Littlefield. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Crescent Park Church of Christ, 99 Crescent Drive in Littlefield. Burial will follow in the Littlefield Cemetery.

Donna was born to Donald Rhea Chesshir and Sue Johnson Chesshir on August 5, 1959, in Lubbock. Donna graduated from Floydada High School in 1977. She then attended Texas Tech for two years, where she met the love of her life. Donna married Charles Keaton on December 29, 1978, in Floydada, TX. She spent many years as an administrative assistant, including 21 years at the Floyd County Extension Office. Through those 21 years she coached and encouraged hundreds of 4-Hers across the state. Through her work and dedication to 4-H she was recognized as an outstanding secretary for the extension office, received the Silver Spur award, and the Distinguished Leader award. She was a Texas Tech fan and enjoyed attending Red Raider football and basketball games with her family.

Donna had a love for cooking and providing meals for church, fundraisers, and families in need. She was most known for her famous pumpkin rolls. She loved traveling, some of her favorite places were Ruidoso, New Mexico and Branson, Missouri. Along with traveling, she enjoyed doing anything that included spending time with her family. She especially looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas when all her kids and grandkids were gathered around the same table. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. She loved shopping for them no matter the occasion. She enjoyed helping them prepare for 4-H contests and attending their extra-curricular activities.

Donna also spent many years serving as a Band Booster, senior sponsor, and overseeing many concession stands. Donna was an active member of the Church of Christ. Her last home congregation was West College and Third in Lockney.

Donna is survived by her husband Charles of Littlefield. One son Rusty Keaton of Lewisville, TX. Two daughters, Charissa Golden and her husband Cory of Littlefield and Kami Miller and her husband Tim of Brownfield. Grandkids Taryn, Rhealee, and Graceson of Littlefield and Taytem of Slidell, Louisiana, and Tobias of Brownfield. Brother, Don Chesshir and wife Christina of Floydada, and sister Tammie Shuping and husband Bobby of Hale Center. In addition, she had numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
