Rodger Stapp (Lockney)

Rodger Lynn Stapp, 69, of Lockney, passed away peacefully after battling Alzheimer’s disease for many years, on November 18, 2021. Visitation will be held at 12:45 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.  Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Lockney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Rodger was born on July 7, 1952, in Lockney, Texas. Rodger married Belinda in 1971 and together they raised their family in Lockney. Rodger operated Stapp Body Shop for 40 years. As an active member of his church, Rodger served as a deacon for many years. Rodger also served on the city council and was mayor for eleven years. His greatest pleasure came from making memories in the mountains with his family, fly fishing, and 4-wheeler adventures.

The family wishes to express many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at My Lometa Home, and the nurses with Hospice Traditions, who have been like family to Rodger.

He was preceded in death by his father Louis Ray and mother Dorothy Stapp.

Rodger is survived by his wife, Belinda; and his children, Shana and Todd Hallmark, Andy and Cara Stapp, Jeremy and Lindi Stapp, Tyrell and Kara Stapp; his seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Randall and Lyndall.
