FLOYDADA — The Floyd County Commissioners Court heard the results of the financial audit for the 2021 fiscal year during their regular meeting on Monday, and they were pleased to hear that the report was, as one commissioner put it, “boring.”

Accountant Rick Knapp presented the audit findings, which he said were a very good report. Knapp praised county officials as “very competent” and issued “no hand slaps here.”

Knapp accented the fact that Floyd County is debt free, which he said is very unusual and very good. He also noted that the county’s cash position had increased over the course of the year, thanks in part to federal COVID-19 relief funds.
