Have you ever heard the story of the Yule Log? On Christmas Eve 1966 a TV executive in New York got the idea to point a camera at a fireplace and play Christmas music for viewers who didn’t have a fireplace or record players.

While we’re in the Radio and not TV business, we’re trying something similar here.

Starting at noon Friday, 106.1 FLiP FM will play nothing but Christmas music for 24 hours, commercial free. Think of it as our Christmas gift to Floyd County.

Just tune your radio to 106.1 and you’ll hear nothing but Christmas songs – ranging from the familiar “Here Comes Santa Claus” by Burl Ives to Josh Abbott’s new holiday single “Santa Better Knock.”

No radio in the home? Just ask Alexa to play KFLP-FM or listen on your computer or smart device at 1061FLiPFM.com/listen-live. We’ll return to regular programming (still playing Christmas songs too) at Noon on Christmas Day.

From all of us at 106.1 FLiP FM, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
