BOVINA — The Lockney Longhorns (11-7) and the Bovina Mustangs played a close game on Friday night at Bovina before the Longhorns pulled away in overtime to take a hard fought 57-47 win on the road. The game was tied 44-44 at the end of regulation.
Lockney had a quartet of double-figure scorers led by Josh Barretoro’s 16, followed by Jonathan Cienfuegos with 13. Austin Rodriguez put in 12, and Max Ramirez added 10.
The Longhorns have one more non-district game on Tuesday when they entertain the Smyer Bobcats (5-6) at Longhorn Gym. This will be the nightcap game following the Lockney Lady Horns (20-4, 1-0) against the Floydada Lady Winds (13-6, 0-0) in a District 4-2A girls game at 6:15 p.m.
District 4-2A will start for the boys teams on Friday.
