Doylene Dipprey (Lockney)

Doylene Dipprey, age 84, of Lockney, passed away on January 12, 2022, in Lockney, surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the West College & 3rd Church of Christ in Lockney. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Doylene was born on November 19, 1937, in Lockney to Doyle and Velma (Carthel) Harrison. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1956. Doylene spent many years running the Lockney Branch of the Floyd County Library until her retirement in 1999. After her years spent there, she worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Lockney.

She married the love of her life and High School Sweetheart, Dub Dipprey, on December 14, 1956. Doylene loved to read and she loved to make up stories with her grandchildren with them as the characters. She also enjoyed many other pastimes like going to the lake, riding horses, singing, and going to church. She was a longtime member of the West Side Church of Christ in Lockney.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, brother Leroy (Jo Neal) Harrison, sister Bettye Jo (Kenneth) Jackson, her in-law’s Boots and Daisy (Welch) Dipprey, and a granddaughter Jana Graves.

Those left to cherish Doylene’s memory are her adoring husband, John W. (Dub) Dipprey; her sons, Tyke (Connie) Dipprey of Plainview, Todd (Nancy) Dipprey of Shallowater; her daughter, Tina (Glen) Graves of Lockney; sister Bonnie (Monty) Barrett, brother Kelly (Dina) Harrison; grandchildren Ryan, Chase, and Trey (Shay) Graves, Tyler (Erin) Dipprey, Wesley (Brooke) Dipprey, Tyka (Landon) McClellan, Conner (Mikeilah) Dipprey; 8 great-grandchildren Falyn, Duke, and Sophie Graves, Scarlett and Dax Dipprey, Knox, Sully, and Ace Dipprey.

Memorials can be sent to Lockney Volunteer Fire Department and Lockney Branch of the Floyd Co Library.
