Floydada native earns 700th collegiate win

CORPUS CHRISTI – Floydada native and current Texas A&M Corpus Christi Women’s Basketball Coach Royce Chadwick earned the 700th win in his 38-year coaching career Saturday night as his Islanders beat the Houston Baptist Huskies 57-44.

Chadwick, a 1975 graduate of Floydada High School, is in his 10th year coaching at TAMU-CC. His previous stops include Oklahoma Panhandle State, Howard Junior College, SFA, Sam Houston and Marshall. His bio at GoIslanders.com says he started his coaching career at Olton High School in 1983.
