FLOYDADA – A 19-year-old is dead following a rollover crash Tuesday night along Highway 62 south of Floydada.
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. at the edge of Blanco Canyon near County Road 300. The 19-year-old, identified as Brantley Potter of Shallowater, was taken to Lockney’s Mangold Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Potter was not wearing a seatbelt and ejected from the vehicle. Three other people in the pickup truck, all between the ages of 18-19, were taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock. All three have since been released from the hospital.
The group told Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies they were returning home from Childress.
The highway was closed Wednesday morning while Floyd County Deputies investigated the accident. The road was reopened just after noon.
The crash remains under investigation.
