HALE CENTER – If Dion Sanders and Lockney baseball coach Payton Rhodes were asked, “which do you like best – no hit pitching or blistering bats?” they both would probably reply – “both”. Both shut down pitching of a combined no-hitter by Longhorn hurlers Pablo Morales and Josh Jiminez, along with 15-whopping hits led to a 18-0 win over the Seagraves Eagles on Saturday in the final day of the Hale Center Tournament.

Lockney outscored their three opponents at Hale Center by a combined 35-6 with a total of 28-hits. In Saturday’s shutout of Seagraves, the quartet of Nathan Cineceros, Josh Jimenz, Morris Salas and Pablo Morales each hit a triple and single that produced 10-RBI between them.

While on the pitchers mound, Morales and Jimenez combined for a no-hit shutout. Morales pitched the first two innings firing seven strikeouts, allowed two walks and was credited with the win. Jimenez closed out the game by striking out the side in the third inning. For Morales this is his second no-hitter to be involved in, even though the Longhorns and he lost to Amarillo San Jacinto 2-1 in Lockney’s season opener
