AMARILLO – The Floydada Lady Winds softball team came out victorious in their latest playoff round, toping Sunray in two games of a best-of-three series Friday night.

The Lady Winds win game one by a 4-3 score on 11 strikeouts by Erin Trevino.

Game two’s highlight came in the sixth frame when Kaley Garza led off the inning with a solo home run. In a post-game interview with KFLP’s Nick Long, Garza said due to the sun in her eyes, she wasn’t sure if the ball had cleared the field until she heard the cheer from the crowd.

Floydada will now face the Clarendon Lady Bronchos. Game times and details are pending.
