IDALOU – The Floydada minor league All-Star baseball team of 9 and 10-year-olds went 1-1 in the Tri County Little League Tournament this past week.
Floydada won their tourney opener against the Slaton Wolf Pack 13-4 on Sunday. The young Whirlwind team lost in the quarterfinal round on Friday to Tahoka “A” 16-5. The team was coached by Jason Aleman and Junior Hernandez.
Six players from Floydada will now team up with three players from each Silverton and Valley for the District 38 Little League Tourney that starts June 17. Representing Floydada will be Israel Cervera, Jaiden Cuellar, Iann Perez, Ian Hernandez, Mason Galvan, and Vincent Cooper. Silverton and Valley have been playing under the Floydada Little League Charter in recent years.
