FLOYD COUNNTY – The most famous American youth sports playoff system begins on Friday, June 17 when the Little League playoffs for both baseball and softball get underway.
Floydada will have three baseball and three softball teams playing in District 38 tournaments, while Lockney has a pair of baseball and softball squads each in action.
Little League is divided into three age categories of Minors (ages 8-10), Majors (10-12,) and Juniors (12-14). Each age group overlaps at ages 10 and 12 where the players are then classified by their school grade and talent level.
