FLOYDADA – After the City of Floydada’s main water well went down Wednesday morning, residents were asked to conserve water usage to help keep the city’s two backup wells going.

As repairs moved into a second day, residents were again asked to curtail water usage. And now residents will need to restrict water usage for a third day on Friday.
In an automated phone call to residents Thursday night, city secretary Patty Lowrance said hopefully the situation would be resolved Friday, and that the city appreciated everyone’s patience, but that a third day would be needed.
There is a possibility a boil notice could be called after the well is brought back online, but it is not necessary at this time.
