LOCKNEY – Nathan Ceniceros set himself apart on the baseball diamond this year, becoming one of the most celebrated Lockney Longhorns players in the process. Ceniceros’ latest post-season accolade has come from the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA), who named him a member of the Class 2A All-State second team.

Ceniceros was previously named to the District 3-2A All-District first team, and to the second team for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Lone Star Varsity Super Team for all classifications from the South Plains.

Ceniceros was one of the main catalysts in the Longhorns marching to a 20-9 season record, finishing with a trip to the Region 1-2A Quarterfinals. “Nathan was so valuable to our team in multiple ways. His leadership was prcieless,” Lockney Athletic Director Jonathan Thiebaud told the Record.

According to MaxPreps.com, Cineceros rated among the elite 2A baseball players in Texas for the season. He was number two in the state with six homeruns, number nine with 40 runs scored, and in the top 100 with a .408 batting average. Ceniceros was also Lockney’s top base runner with 16 stolen basees.
