FLOYD COUNTY – The cost of getting license plates will remain the same in 2023, at least for the amount the county charges.

On Monday morning county commissioners approved leaving the $10 road and bridge fee assessed to vehicles untouched for the upcoming year. The money is added to Texas vehicle registrations by the Floyd County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office.

Commissioner also approved the interview process for the next Floyd County Librarian. Eleven people, including two current county employees, submitted full applications for the position. Current Librarian Mary Jane Cisneros is running unopposed for the Floyd County District Clerk position, and will begin transitioning into that office ahead of the November 8 election.

Commissioners will begin interviewing the first half of candidates during their September 6 meeting, with the second half of interviews on September 12. The person hired is expected to begin with the county on October 1.
