Six South Dakota teens arrested after Floydada chase

FLOYDADA – A busy morning for Floydada Police after a group of teens in a stolen SUV run out of gas following a chase through three counties.

The incident started after a 911 call came into police saying the teens had flashed a gun at a bystander at the Floydada Allsup’s. According to Chief Reuben Ramon the officer that responded tried to pull the teens over but they fled, heading south into Crosby County before heading west. The teens then crossed into Lubbock County near Idalou where their black SUV ran out of gas.

The teens, three boys and three girls, were reported missing out of South Dakota and the SUV had been reported stolen. Officers also found two stolen handguns.

Three of the teens were checked out medically at University Medical Center but have since been released. All six are now in the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center.
