Carl Dwayne Wilson (Floydada)

Carl Dwayne Wilson, age 80, of Floydada, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Floydada, with Mark Snowden officiating. Interment will follow at the Floydada Cemetery. A Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Carl Dwayne Wilson was born on April 24, 1942, in Lockney, Texas, to Carl P. Wilson and Mary Jefferson-Wilson.  Carl was a Lockney High School Graduate in the Class of 1960. After High School, he attended Oklahoma State University. He enjoyed spending his free time playing the guitar and piano. He is a member of the Bob Wills Family and was a member of the Trojans Band in his younger years.

On December 14, 1963, Carl met and married the love of his life, Glenda Faye Shull, in Plainview, Texas, where they were blessed with two daughters. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl P. Wilson and Mary Jefferson-Wilson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Glenda Wilson of Floydada, Texas, two daughters; Christine and husband Aki Graham of Stafford, Virginia, and Diana Kay and husband, Dennis Stone of Arlington, Texas, and four grandchildren; Sarah Graham and husband, Steve Bender, Dylan and wife, Hannah Rankin, Lacy, and Tai. Two great-grandchildren; Gannon, Hattie Mae, and three sisters; Ruby McLoud of Abilene, Texas, Jonell Duzan of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Barbara Christian of Denton, Texas. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
