Gary Wilson (Lubbock)
Gary Wilson, 69, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Gary was born in Lubbock on June 17, 1953, to the late Paul Wilson and Mary (Cypert) Wilson.
He attended Floydada High School, graduated in 1971, met Lea Logan, and married in Lubbock on July 31, 1992.
Gary was a mail carrier for the USPS in Floydada for 33 years before retiring in 2008. He was an old western movie buff, loved classic movies, and traveled to all parts of New Mexico. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Floydada.
Survivors include his wife, Lea of Lubbock; two sons, Jimmy Gilliland of Lubbock, Kevin Wilson and his wife Stefanie of Lubbock, and one foster son, Timothy Green of Lubbock; two daughters, La’Rae Reep and her husband Jacob of Lubbock, Amy Wilson of Lubbock, and two stepdaughters, Reagan Mones and her husband Joe of Grand Prairie and Chrystal Cunningham and her husband James of Amarillo; one sister, Phyllis Trujillo of Aztec, New Mexico, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steven Wilson.
Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be from 10 AM to 2 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022. Final rites and interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
Jacob Reep, Tyler Campbell, Timothy Green, Anthony Whitfill, James Evans, and Kevin Wilson will be pallbearers.
