FLOYD COUNTY, TX – Early voting begins today in the General Election, with polls open for the next two weeks (Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm).

In Lockney, voters will cast their ballot at First United Methodist Church (102 W. Poplar Street) and in Floydada at the Courthouse Annex (110 S. Wall Street).

No local contests will be decided, as all county candidates won in the primary election and are elected unopposed.

Voters will select a Governor, either incumbent Greg Abbott(R) or challenger Beto O’Rourke (D), as well as 12 other contested elections.

For the first time in many years, county residents will elect just one member to the House of Representatives. In the past, a portion of the county voted in the 13th Congressional district (represented by Mac Thornberry and later Ronnie Jackson). In contrast, the remainder of the county elected a representative to the 19th Congressional district (represented by Jodey Arrington).

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
