LOCKNEY, TX – For the first time in modern history, residents here will no longer have a grocery store.
On Saturday, Foodjet, owned by Lowe’s Markets in Littlefield, locked the doors for the last time at 211 North Main.
With the closing, shoppers will now have to travel to Plainview for fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats.
There’s been no word on why the company closed the store, but it does follow a trend whereby they have left other communities like Hart and Lorenzo in the past few years.
