Sophomore Soriah Wickware Attempts Two-Pointer Against Friona (FCR Photo)
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (3-2) played host to the Friona Squaws on Monday afternoon in a non-district matchup.
The Lady Winds came out with intensity to start the game and were able to take a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
A big second quarter from Floydada’s sophomore Soriah Wickware gave the Lady Winds a 41-12 lead at the half.
With help from all members of the team in the second half, the Lady Winds closed out a solid game with a 73-36 win.
Floydada was led by junior Zay Santos (19 points), Soriah Wickware (12 points), and senior Danielle Zavala (9 points).
The Floydada girls JV beat Friona 59-9.
