FLOYDADA, TX – What began as a part-time experiment has now turned into a full-time job for Ryan Crowe.

The Floydada resident recently accepted the position of Executive Director for the local Economic Development Corporation (EDC).

The EDC receives tax revenues from the city and reinvests those funds locally to create new businesses and strengthen economic streams in the community while also attracting and retaining a local workforce.

Crowe was hired to fill the role after the mid-summer departure of Justin Brown.

On November 10th, the EDC board, led by President Wes Anderson, decided to offer the North Texas native the job on a full-time basis.

Crowe most recently served as Editor of the Floyd County Record and music director for KFLP-FM but will continue to work with the Record in an advisory and support role, including continued coverage of Floyd County’s local news.
