
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (6-7, 1-2) were victorious in their district game against the New Deal Lady Lions (9-7, 1-2) on Tuesday.
The Lady Winds came out and set the tone for the game early in the first quarter as they held the Lady Lions scoreless for the first six minutes of the game.
At the half, Floydada had the game under control and the lead, 27-11.
It was continued pressure in the second half from the Lady Winds that helped them finish the game and get their first district win over New Deal, 42-32.
Sophomores Katelyn Ramirez and Soriah Wickware led the Lady Winds in scoring with 8 points each.
Wickware also led the team in rebounds with 9 in their victory over the Lady Lions.
