
LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Lady Horns (16-5, 2-1) won their second district game in a row over the Smyer Lady Cats (6-12, 0-3) on Tuesday.
The Lady Cats came out to take the lead at the end of the first quarter, 15–13.
Lockney was able to tie the game and end the first half at 26–26.
The second half is where the Lady Horns were able to take control of the game, and thanks to a 21 point fourth quarter, they secured the district victory over Smyer, 60-44.
Lockney was led by senior Adriana Villarreal, who had 24 points and 4 steals.
Also contributing to the Lady Horns’ win was Mariah Ascencio, who had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
