Wind Chill Warning Issued for Entire South Plains

FLOYD COUNTY, TX – An arctic blast blew through the region after 2:00 am, bringing high winds and bitterly cold temperatures.

From a high of 54° to an early morning low of 4°, the temperatures’ swing paled compared to the brutal wind chills, which fell to -20°.

The high winds also wreaked additional havoc across the county, including a sign at ACE Hardware in Floydada.

Temperatures are expected to hit a high of 22° on Friday, 36° on Christmas Eve, and 51° on Christmas Day.
