
HALE CENTER, TX – The Lockney Longhorns (9-10, 1-4) played the Hale Center Owls (8-11, 2-3) in district play on Friday.
Hale Center held a close lead at the end of the first quarter, 13-10.
The Longhorns trailed by only five as the two teams went to halftime with the score at 27-22.
Lockney had a game high 18 points in the third quarter as they would take the lead 40-37.
The teams battled in the fourth quarter, but the Owls managed to tie the game late in the game to send it to overtime.
The Owls were able to outscore the Longhorns 8-4 to take the victory in overtime, 61-57.
Lockney falls to 1-4 in district action and sits in seventh in the standings.
