SUDAN, TX – The Lockney Longhorns (10-10, 2-4) and Sudan Hornets (1-10, 1-5) played on Tuesday for a district game.
The Longhorns had the lead for the first half as the teams went into the locker room with Lockney ahead, 31-26.
Both teams struggled offensively in the third quarter as Lockney outscored the Hornets 9-4.
The fourth quarter was a Sudan comeback, and the Hornets would put 20 points on the board to send the game into overtime with the score at 50-50.
It was back and forth between the two teams in the overtime quarter, but Lockney’s Dylan Thiebaud would swish the game-winning three pointer at the buzzer to secure the win for the Longhorns, 63-60.
Lockney was led by a big performance by senior Johnathan Cienfuegos, who had 26 points and 27 rebounds.
