
NEW DEAL, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (14-11, 5-5) played the New Deal Lady Lions (13-14, 4-6) in a district matchup on Wednesday.
It was a slow start offensively for the Lady Winds, as New Deal had the lead after the first quarter, 10-7.
Floydada would start the second quarter opposite of the first and go on a run that would give them the lead going into halftime, 24-22.
The Lady Winds’ defense stepped up in the third quarter and held the Lady Lions to only 6 points, extending the Floydada lead to 38-28.
In the final quarter, the Lady Winds would be able to close the game out and end the game victorious, 54-37.
Floydada’s junior Zay Santos led the team in scoring with 18 and junior Sierra Snowden led the team in rebounds with 10.
