LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Longhorns (12-14, 4-8) faced off against the Hale Center Owls (12-14, 6-6) on Tuesday in a district game.
From the opening tip-off, the two teams were back and forth as Hale Center managed to take a one-point lead over the Longhorns.
The Owls were able to increase their lead in the second quarter as they went up 28-22.
Lockney tried to battle back in the third quarter, but the Owls still maintained their 41-32 lead.
The Longhorns would put up a game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late for them as Hale Center would be victorious, 57-52.
Lockney’s senior Johnathan Cienfuegos had a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds against the Owls.
Longhorns junior Nathan Hernandez had 14 points in the loss on Tuesday night.
